Big change is possible when people work together, generate new ideas, and forge partnerships. That’s the goal of the Great Lakes Clean Communities Network (GLCCN), an effort supported by the Great Lakes Protection Fund, where leaders connect in new and powerful ways, and determination drives innovative ideas to address environmental problems locally and throughout the Great Lakes.

The institute of water research at MSU was charged with the task of creating a completely new and innovate management tool for network collaboration to support the efforts of addressing environmental problems and challenges throughout the Great Lakes region. The IWR funded by the Great Lakes Protection Fund turned to Premium Interactive to design a robust web application that combined innovative management strategies, tools, and technologies to facilitate large scale collaboration between environmental professionals working in the Great Lakes Basin, seeking to connect individuals and organizations that strive to make the Great Lakes greater.

Premium Interactive was challenged to create the brand, the user experience and interface design, custom illustration as well as the development of the entire e-software platform.

Working closely with multiple stakeholders, Premium Interactive delivered a complex private online social network to facilitate downloading and sharing new ideas, stories and tools that promoted collaboration between the practitioners committed to a cleaner and healthier Great Lakes.

As you scroll down, you will see the logo designs, UX, UI and examples of the different sections of the finished e-software platform.

Our e-software platform made it possible for GLCCN contributors to:

  • Add themselves to the Great Lakes Map
  • Promote their work and success stories
  • Connect with other individuals working toward the same goals
  • Access a myriad of online environmental tools
  • Evaluate and track progress toward environmental goals using the GLCCN’s EcoScore
  • Learn about strategies for using social media as a non-profit organization
  • Be recognized for meeting their environmental goals
